At the launch of Viggo Mortensen’s photography exhibition this morning, around 50 overseas journalists, cameramen and photographers jostled for his attention. Media from Canada, the Netherlands, Japan and France quizzed Mortensen – who plays Aragorn in the film – on his affection for New Zealand and Wellington. The actor endeared himself to a thronging mob of media at the launch because, as tape recorders stopped taping, he casually picked them up, flipped the tape and turned them on again, sparking laughter from the crowd. In bare feet and drinking coffee, he was asked who his role models were. He replied his dog was pretty smart.
Peter Jackson sat down for a small featurette to discuss taking The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit into 4k.
