New Zealand Lord of the Rings Actors Sue New Line Cinema

Filed May 30 in Los Angeles Superior Court, the actors claim they should have received 5% of “net merchandising revenue” split among all actors whose characters are portrayed on the merchandise.

Those filing the suit are:

  • Bruce Hopkins (Gamling)
  • William Johnson
  • Nathaniel Lees (Ugluk)

  • Ian Mune (Bounder)
  • Paul Norell (King of the Dead)
  • Craig Parker (Haldir)
  • Robert Pollock (Orc)
  • Martyn Sanderson (Gate Keeper)
  • Peter Tait (Shagrat)
  • Stephan Ure (Grishnakh and Gorbag)
