Our resident NZ newshound, Susan, shot this article to us this evening. Doesn’t look like the flooding rain wreaked all that much havoc on the filming schedule this past week.
Day off for film crew
The Southland Times – November 16, 1999
The cast and crew of the movie Lord Of The Rings had a compulsory day off at Te Anau yesterday. Publicist Claire Raskind said the crew started shooting at Wanaka last week and were scheduled to start in the Te Anau area from yesterday. Crew and cast arrived at the weekend but the heavy rain yesterday stopped any filming, she said. The crew would begin filming in Te Anau today if the weather cleared and Queenstown next week, Ms Raskind said. Director Peter Jackson was expected to arrive at Te Anau today.
