While Enya‘s recent release, A Day Without Rain, has been steadily climbing the charts over the last forty-seven weeks and landing at the Number Two spot this week, the Celtic singer has recorded two new songs to be released by year’s end.

“Aniron . . . (I Desire)” and “May It Be” will be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming film The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, the first in a trilogy based on the J.R.R. Tolkien novels.

Both songs were written by Enya and produced by Nicky Ryan, who has worked with various Celtic/New Age artists in the past. The soundtrack hits stores on November 20th, while the film — starring Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett and Liv Tyler — hits theaters on December 19th.

The Enya Collection DVD/VHS, which features all of the singer’s videos, will also be released on November 20th.
