Kiwi Oscar winner Ngila Dickson’s Lord of the Rings costume design has been ripped off and sold on the internet for more than $40,000… A US businessman bought what he thought was the grey riding dress worn by Arwen (Liv Tyler) in the hit trilogy. US police believe it is part of a film memorabilia forgery scam as none of the original Lord of the Rings (LOTR) trilogy costumes have left New Zealand… But Dickson said the buyer was naive to think he could get an original. “I have seen people copy these costumes but the result was what I could only describe as laughable. If somebody buys that they get what they deserve, really,” said Dickson.
