Guillermo Del ToroSigning copies of his new book, The Strain, Guillermo del Toro greeted fans at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles.
While the event focused on his new publication, he did make a couple of Hobbit-referencing comments:
When asked about how the two screenplays are coming, he said (seemingly tongue in cheek), “We’re working on it still. I think it will be finished when the DVD comes out.”
And regarding his stay in New Zealand, del Toro says he plans to spend three years there: “This is my last trip. I’m going to go three years.” He also mentioned that
Kiwi food has affected his waistline: “I grew eight sizes,” he said. “This morning I went to Big and Tall because my pants were, like, [too tight]. There’s a thing called
Pavlova, which is like a giant meringue with cream on top. I have this [pointing to his jacket] to cover my breastage.”
