Tolkien Online on your Site – How to Put Our Headlines on Your Site

by Oct 25, 2000Other News

Over the last couple of months we have recieved several requests from people asking us if we could provide them with a way to put our headlines from our site on their site. We have come up with a way to do this.

If you are running your own site or you have your own personal start page that you would like to add our headlines to keep on reading.

We support 3 different formats for recieving our news.

The first method we use is Javascript code to allow you to add news to your site.

<Table width=”200″><TR><TD>

  <script language=”JavaScript” src=”” type=”text/javascript”></script>

Note: If you need to change the width, modify the number in quotations to represent your desired width. The minimum width is 140.

The second method is very simular to the first.

<Table width=”200″><TR><TD>

  <script language=”JavaScript” src=”” type=”text/javascript”></script>

Note:In the first example we included a style sheet. In this example we have not, but we have left in the class and style designations. Following is a list of style we have included but not defined:

The final technology we use is called RSS. “RSS (“RDF Site Summary”) is a lightweight multipurpose extensible metadata description and syndication format. RSS is an XML application, conforms to the W3C’s RDF Specification and is extensible via XML-namespace and/or RDF based modularization.” Our RSS file is located at “”.

For more information about RSS head on over here to get the specifications.

If anyone hosts our headlines, please let us know. We want to create a list of sites which carry our news. Thanks,
