It is reported that the pub – popularly known as “The Bird and Baby” which is in St Giles, Oxford, is to be sold. The Inklings, a group of writers which included JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis, used to meet there, in a room called the Rabbit Room, and read from their current works. There is a plaque remembering the Inklings.
A letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to illustrator Doris Sykes will be sold by Hermitage Fine Art Monaco for £15,000 ($25,0000).
