PRWeek magazine, the only weekly that covers the US public relations and corporate communications fields, today announced the finalists for the 2001 PRWeek awards. A thousand entries in 35 categories were considered by 65 judges, who whittled the list down to 175 finalists. Award winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at New York’s Chelsea Piers on February 15.
New Line Cinema‘s Official Lord of the Rings website was nominated for “New Media Site of the Year.” Other nominees in this category include Dallabrida & Associates for PositiveWords.com, Edelman for John G. Shedd Aquarium, Fleishman-Hillard for Office of National Drug Control Policy “Freevibe”, and UGO Networks for Gary Coleman Web-a-Thon.
Additional award categories include PR Professional of the Year, PR Agency of the Year, Political Campaign of the Year, Nonprofit PR Team of the Year and Consumer Launch of the Year, among others.
The awards ceremony will be hosted by television star John Fugelsang and include a performance by Saturday Night Live’s Darrell Hammond. There will also be a cabaret and dancing.
