The university’s Continuing Education department will hold four lectures about The Lord Of The Rings and medieval literature in November – timed to coincide with the release of the film.
Associate Professor in English language Dr Robert Easting said he and his wife and colleague, a senior lecturer in the same department, Dr Christine Franzen, wanted to do something to enhance people’s knowledge of Tolkien’s work before the films were released.
