This is the first time “The Board Room” is available on video. “The Board Room” brings together the top designers in the board game industry to discuss how games are made, marketed, and played. Top designers such as Alan Moon, Reiner Knizia, and Frank DeLorenzo offer insight into the creation of their games, reveal special strategies, and discuss their future projects.
In one video, “The Complete Lord of the Rings with Reiner Knizia,” the designer Reiner Knizia discusses his game based on the popular novels by J.R.R. Tolkein and its release in conjunction with the highly anticipated feature film “Lord of the Rings.” In “The Complete Tigris and Euphrates with Reiner Knizia,” Mr. Knizia discusses his game “Tigris and Euphrates,” considered by some gamers to be “the best board game ever made.” “Games and Their Designers: Tape 1,” features the latest games from top designers Doug Thompson, Steven Perkins, Aaron Weissblum, Frank DeLorenzo, Mike Fitzgerald, and Mary Couzin. “Games and Their Designers: Tape 2,” features Donald Green, Reiner Knizia and Mike Fitzgerald.
Host Bob Schwartz has been a board game fanatic since the late 50s. In 1979, Bob’s favorite pastime became his livelihood when he opened Games Unlimited, a game store in Pittsburgh, PA.
