In PCGZine‘s latest downloadable issue, they have a great overview of the soon to be launched Lord of the Rings Online, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Here’s their intro:
How long have we waited for this day? To be a part of Tolkien’s world? A real part of it. We’ve played Dungeons and Dragons. We’ve played MERP. We’ve played War of the Ring. We’ve read the books, even the silly ones full of verse. We’ve seen the films (and kinda liked them). So now a MMORPG based on the Middle Earth universe is nearly ready and at last we can interact with our fictional heroes and go on real quests with other people. Is this just for geeks (we’re happy to named as such) or is this incarnation of Middle Earth going to reach as wide as the films and books? Our exclusive preview answers all these questions and many more as the developers themselves show us around the world.
