IMDB reports, “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring earned $17.2 million from rentals in its first five days of release domestically, but it set no record, coming in well behind Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which grossed $19.1 million in its home-video debut, Video Store Magazine reported Thursday.”
