John Ronald Reuel Tolkien is ready to enter, for the first time, into a European Institution. In fact at the 6 p.m. of the 27th of March Paolo Paron, President of the Italian Tolkien Society, and Oronzo Cilli, President of the Inklings Association, will introduce the event “To the Shire – In the name of Tolkien” in the wonderful hall 5B01 of the European Parlament of Bruxelles. This event will occur in the Italian country of Puglia on June this year and it will be shown inside the IV° TraniFilmFestival press conference. The Festival is a very important appointment (in the last editions Mario Monicelli, Lina Wertmuller, Valeria Golino, Giulio Base, Noah Taylor, Domenico Procacci were among the guests) and it will host the event “To the Shire – In the name of Tolkien”, the first event that the Italian Tolkien Society will organize in the wonderful country of Puglia. “To the Shire – In the name of Tolkien” will discuss Tolkien’s books and the Peter Jackson’s movies. With the support of the New Zeland Embassy in Italy that will show some facilities to go and study in New Zeland, the land in which Peter Jackson shooted the Trilogy The Lord of The Rings. So, on thursday 27th of March “To the Shire – In the name of Tolkien” will discuss about Tolkien’s world and works by the presence of the Italian Ambassador of the European Community Umberto Vattani, the Italian Counselor of Bruxelles Alessandro Motta, the members of the European Parlament Roberto Bigliardo, Pietro Mennea, Domenico Mennitti, Giovanni Pittella, Vincenzo Lavarra, the Artistic Director of TraniFilmFestival Beppe Sbrocchi, Paolo Paron, Oronzo Cilli and the journalists Antonio Procacci, Giuseppe Dimiccoli and Robert Bernocchi.
