Middle-earth Celebration in Switzerland – Herr der Ringe

Cirdan, webmaster of Der Herr der Ringe, informed us of this upcoming Tolkien event for European fans:

Two months before the biggest movie-event ever, there will be the Middle-earth-Celebration in Switzerland. Five hundred Tolkien fans from all over Europe are expected.

The biggest celebration in honor of J.R.R. Tolkien and his opus LORD OF THE RINGS will take place in the medieval village Leuk-Stadt in the swiss canton Wallis from October 11th to 14th.

The Tolkien fans will enjoy four days of discussions, knight-feast, games, costume-contests and more programm.

“The main motivation naturally is to permit the exchange of ideas of Tolkien fans” is how the organizers describe the event.

Two castles, with knights hall, were rented for the celebration, but there will be offers also in the streets and alleys. The Tolkien fans are supported energetic by the inhabitants of the village.
