LOTR: Special Premiere to Benefit Local Salvation Army – Somerset, PA

Steph sent this over… if you live in the Pittsburgh area, consider seeing FOTR here!

Somerset, PA. The Palace Theatre on Rt. 601 N. (3 miles North of the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit 10) is having a special showing of the Lord of the Rings at 1:00pm on Dec. 19. Because of the rural location of the theatre, they are not usually open on a weekday (except Tuesdays) for matinee showings, but this day is an exception. The theatre is located just 6 miles from the crash site of FL93 which occured on Sept. 11. The local Salvation Army, along with a host of local volunteers have done so much to assist with the clean up and recovery effort, and it has stressed their resources. Although there are a lot of national fundraisers, there are local needs that simply never stop: food bank, emergency help to fire victims, etc. are ongoing. We thought it would be a great idea to target a local fundraiser to specifically our region that will assist in replinishing these funds. So, they are taking reservations (telephone calls and email reservations) so that they can fill up the theatre, but no go over thei r capacity. For just $4.25, visitors will get to see LOTR at a great price and without long lines. This is an extremely convienient location if you leave near Pittsburgh, PA; Maryland, West Virginia, or Eastern Ohio. If you would like to attend, please contact the theatre directly at 814-443-3200 or email at visitourshire@aol.com. Tell us how many people are coming with you, and we will make sure that you are on the list. Thank you very much for supporting this modest effort. Every bit is greatly appreciated.
