“I asked him what the differences were in the voice he used for Gimli and the voice of Treebeard. He said they had discussed it and wanted to use different accents from different parts of England for all the characters and they used a sort of a scottish brogue for Gimli (he did say a few things with the accent and it sounded very good!).
