The New Morning and Evening: Elennea's Story - Dawn
She scanned the city looking for her twin, Laurelin. She couldn't spot her. She sighs and goes back to her book that Bilbo wrote. She went back twelve years in her mind, when her father left her and her sister at Rivendell. The day she woke up and ran to her father's room, ready to spend the day to be with him. Finding him not in his bed and crying until Elrond and her sister came and comforted her.
She was only four then. She never forgave her father for that. She most trusted her sister and Elrond, her Father raiser (or FR for short). There she was raised for twelve years she hated her father and she planned never to forgive him.
She hears a sound from the door and turns to see her brother. He was standing in the doorway wearing his usual outfit of brown. His brown hair was down to his shoulder, all mingled and dirty.
"Wow, Aragorn. When was the last time you took a shower?"
"It's nice to see you, too, Little Sister. Come give me a hug."
"Once you take a shower, I will. What brings you here? I thought you where suppose to be living in the Wild?"
"I am but the Council is meeting. Didn't you know that or has Elrond finally stop asking you to came?"
"Yeah, I know but I figured FR knew about what you and Arwen where doing last night."
"Haha. Funny." He says dully. "I'll see you tomorrow at the Council right Little Sis?"
"Yeah get out of my room."
"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You have been summoned to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle earth stands upon the brink of destruction. None can escape it. You will unite, or you will fall. Each race is bound this fate, this one doom. Bring forth the Ring, Frodo," Elrond says. A short little man comes and puts the Ring on a stand in the middle of the circle. Elenna figures he is Frodo.
"So it is true... It is a gift. A gift to the foes of Mordor. Why not use this ring. Long has my father, the steward of Gondor kept the forces of Mordor at bay by the blood of our people are your lands kept safe. Give Gondor the weapon of the enemy. Let us use it against him!" Boromir says.
Elennea decides she is bored and starts twisting one of her blond curls on her finger.
"You cannot wield it. None us can. The One Ring answers to Sauron alone. It has no other master," Aragorn points out.
"And would a Ranger know of this matter?" Boromir tries to act superior and smart.
"This is no mere Ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance," Legolas informs Boromir. Wow, this Elf is smart.
"Aragorn? This is Isildur's heir"
"An heir to the throne of Gondor."
"Havo Dad, Legolas," Aragorn says in Elvish.
Boromir looks at Aragorn with a glare. "Gondor has no king. Gondor needs no king."
"Aragorn is right. We cannot use it," Gandalf points out what is already known.
Elrond looks sternly at everyone. "You have but one choice. The Ring must be destroyed."
"What are we waiting for?" Gimli asked. He tries to smash Ring with ax and his ax breaks once it touches the Ring. He falls backwards. Elenna smiles because the stupidity of the Dwarf.
"The Ring cannot be destroyed, Gimli, son of Gloin by any craft that we here posses. The Ring was made in the fires of Mount Doom. Only there can it be unmade. It must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the firey chasm from whence it came. One of you must do this." Elrond explains to the Council.
"One does not simply walk into Mordor. It's black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep. And the Great Eye is ever watchful. 'Tis a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust. The very air that you breathe is a poisonous fume. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly." Boromir points out.
"Have you heard nothing that Lord Elrond has said? The Ring must be destroyed!
"And I suppose you think you're the one to do it!" Legolas is starting to get mad." Gimli yells back.
Boromir stands up. "And if we fail, what then? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his?"
"I will be dead before I see the ring in the hands of an elf!" Gimli yells back. All the elves stand up, then the Dwarves, then everyone except Frodo.
"I will take it! I will take it!" Everyone else stops and listens to him. "I will take the ring to Mordor... Though ... Though I do not know the way," The small hobbit Frodo said. Elennea was surprised that such a small man could be so brave.
"I will help you bear this burden, Frodo Baggins. As long as it is yours to bear," Gandalf agreed to go the Quest.
"By my life or death, if I can protect you, I will." He kneels beside Frodo. "You have my sword," Aragorn bowed down in front of Frodo.
"And you have my bow," Legolas said.
"And my ax," Gimli said copied everyone else.
"You carry the face of us all little one. If this is indeed the will of the council, then Gondor will see it done." Boromir didn't want to be left out so he agreed also.
"Hey! Mr Frodo's not going anywhere without me." Another little man said coming out of the garden.
"No, indeed, it is hardly possible to separate you, even when he is summoned to a secret council, and you are not," Elrond says making fun of him.
"Oi! We're coming too! You'd have to send us home tied up in a sack to stop us." Two other little man came from a building. One in yellow and the other in dark green.
"Besides, you need people of intelligence on this sort of message... quest... thing." said the one in dark green.
The one in the yellow looks at the other. "Well that rules you out." Elennea holds back a smile.
"Nine companions. So be it! You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring," Elrond says looking at the Nine.
"Right. Where are we going?" The hobbit in green says. Elennea excuses herself.
"You where in a rush to leave," Laurelin walks into her sister's room.
"The little man in the green was too funny. The `Right. Where are we going?'. Too funny!"
"Yeah but still."
"You too are weird and messed up." Aragorn had snuck into Elennea's room.
"Not as much as you. `By my life or death, if I can protect you, I will. `You have my sword.' You kneeled and everything!"
"Shut up and be nice to me because you wont' be seeing me for a month."
"YES!!!!!!" She looks at Aragorn. "I mean, darn...."
"Go away. Your not welcomed."
"Laurelin wants me here, don't you?"
"Haha. Good joke, Aragorn," Laurelin laughs.
"OK, I'm leaving now."
"Good, leave. We'll see you tonight." Elennea stares at him.
"Bye." He kisses them both on the forehead and leaves. They turn and smile at each other.
It was evening and the Fellowship was preparing to leave. Elennea spotted Aragorn introducing Laurelin to the Fellowship. Elennea crept closer to them; just into hearing rage. They were speaking to Legolas.
Laurelin curtsied deeply. Her hair fell forward and the tips of it nearly brushed the hard packed dirt on the ground. She stood back up and he bowed.
"I take it this is your sister?" he asked Aragorn. He nodded. "Which one?" the Elf prince asked.
"This is Laurelin," said Aragorn.
The elf turned back to her. "Well, Laurelin, daughter of Arathorn, you are a rare beauty, for one of the race of men." He took her hand and bending over it kissed the back lightly. Laurelin blushed deep crimson as Legolas turned back to talk to Aragorn once more. He looked back once over his shoulder and his eyes seemed to dance with held back laughter.
"I am sorry to have embarrassed you," he said. "I hope you will forgive me." Laurelin nodded, unsure of what to say, before she realized he wasn't looking anymore or expecting a reply. Dazed, she melted into the shadows, rubbing her hand. She sat on stone bench and cradled her head in her hands.
Elennea followed her and heard her mummer: "But an Elf," she murmured. "He is an Elf. An immortal Elf."
"Hey, who are you talking to?"
"Oh, hi. I didn't hear you came over here."
"Well, boo! Let's see. Who's cute?" Elennea thought out loud.
"The elf is cute, Legolas. Merry isn't bad looking either."
"Yeah they're OK. I like Frodo. Pippin is a cute little thing too. But Frodo is way cuter."
"You understand that we all might die. Right?"
"Go away Aragorn your ruining our fun."
"Fine. I'll go away. But first give me a hug."
"Ew!" They both said at the same time.
"Take a shower first and we will think about it."
"I'll think about it."
"We'll probably see you in Lothlórien."
"OK, you too."
"Don't get killed," Elennea yells at him as he walks away.
