The Hobbit Who Was An Elf - Part Three-On the Way to Rivendell
"It is time."
"What?" she said flinging her dark hair back
She looked and noticed the sun had not yet even risen.
"They are coming. When you have lived as long as I have, you can feel their presence."
She stared out the window and suddenly saw them. Dark figures cloaked and hooded. She tensed and the hairs on her neck bristled.
"Aye, you see them."
"Who are they?"
"I have not the time to explain now. We must leave. Wake your friends. Will not be long before they find you.'
Arinae instantly reacted and woke Elanor and Frodo. They inquired as to the reason she was waking them so early, but she said she would explain later. When they had dressed, Rianatu led them through the streets inconspicuously. He was very good at hiding she found out.
"I can avoid being seen when I wish," he told her.
He led them to the stables where two fresh horses awaited them. One was his chestnut steed named Laer. Arinae and Elanor rode upon a beautiful gray horse with a white spot in the middle of her forehead named Elen. They took off into the night riding swiftly through the darkness leaving Bree behind them. They soon came to Amon Sul where Rianatu stopped the horses. Day light was coming, but it would not be sunny considering the rain and the dark clouds. He led them into Amon Sul.
"Rest Arinae," he told the elven girl.
"Why are we stopping?" she asked.
"I am to meet someone here."
"I thought you worked alone."
"What I do is none of your affair. Your affair is that I get you to Rivendell safe and unharmed. Or I could have just left you back at Bree for them to find you. Here," he said fixing her with a sword.
"Who are they?"
"Dark men with dark purposes. They are the Morquiendi."
"Aye. They are the ones who have captured your parents."
"What do they want with my parents?"
"They wanted the Isilen Crystal what you wear around your neck."
"For its power."
"What will they do once they have it?"
"The Isilen Crystal could match the One Ring. They will use it to dominate the earth."
She grasped it. It felt cold in her hand.
"No. Do not worry now. I'm going to have a look around. Stay here. Do not light a fire."
