The Golden Years Part 18 - Arwen loves Aragorn back
Arwen was feeling downright miserable because of her broken ankle. She would be in bed for at least another month and like her mother she did not like sitting still for long. This morning she tried to get out of bed and hop to the dining room for breakfast and she was halfway there when Aragorn and Galadriel caught her.
"And what do you think you are doing out of bed young lady?" her grandmother demanded.
"I was going to breakfast." said Arwen.
"The servants are supposed to bring your meals. Why haven't they yet?" Galadriel asked.
"They did bring it, I just wanted to have company, I get so bored being in my room all day." said Arwen quietly.
Galadriel's face warmed slightly and she said, "I understand how you feel but you need to get back to bed. I tell your grandfather and all four of us will have breakfast with you."
"The four of us, Milady?" asked Aragorn.
"If you would like to Aragorn."
"I would love to."
"Now back to bed Arwen." said Galadriel
"Ok." said Arwen.
She started to turn around and had taken a couple of hops when Galadriel stopped her.
"Sunshine, let Aragorn help you."
"I'll be okay grandmother." said Arwen. The last thing she wanted was for Aragorn to think she was a weakling.
"It would be my pleasure, Princess." said Aragorn.
"All right." said Arwen.
He came up next to her and she tried to put his around his shoulder so she could hop along with him to lean on but Aragorn wouldn't allow it. He swept her up and carried her back to her room. When he opened the door Arwen's puppy started barking playfully and when Aragorn sat Arwen on the bed she jumped into her arms and started licking her.
"Have you decided on a name for her yet?" Aragorn asked.
"No, actually I haven't. Help me pick one."
"Um, I haven't ever owned a pet, I just never asked for one and your father never offered."
"Well father didn't like pets that much. He could tolerate them but he never bothered when he could avoid it. But I still need help picking a name." said Arwen.
"All righty then. What about fluffy?" Aragorn offered.
"Fluffy?" Arwen giggled. "You can tell you haven't owned pets. Fluffy is what you name you cat and Fido is what you name your dog.
"Scratch Fido then." said Aragorn. "Okay how about, Brownie?"
"I'm running out of names here Princess. Waitaminute what about Princess?
"I've run out of names."
"No you haven't just think."
"Okay what about..........Tinuviel?"
"Thats what you called me when we first met."
"You remember that."
"Of course I do. Tinuviel it is then." said Arwen
Aragorn edged closer and Arwen held his hand. Just then the door opened and her grandparents entered with breakfast in tow. Galadriel got an eyefull of the two of them holding hands before they could move apart and smiled.
"So what did I tell you huh?" said Galadriel when the men left the room after breakfast.
"Ohhh as much as I hate to admit it grandmother, you were right and I'm sorry I ever doubted you."
"Apology accepted, Sunshine."
<><><><>A MONTH LATER<><><><><><><><><><><><>
It was sunset and Arwen was walking in the garden when Aragorn spotted her out of his window. When he spotted he was next to her side faster than you could say niphrodil and smiling.
"I see you ankle has healed Princess."
"It still hurts a little but at least I can walk again. I am very gratefull for that.
"I am happy that you are happy Evenstar."
"I am happy that you are happy Estel."
They sat down on a bench and talked until it was twilight. They talked about their favorite things, favorite places, favorite everything.
"Arwen what would you like more than anything else in this world?" Aragorn asked
"I don't know. I suppose I would like to have someone I could love forever. What would you like?"
"I would have you love me as much as I love you."
"I think I do." said Arwen.
Without another word they kissed underneath the stars.
Galadriel and Celeborn watched from their window above.
"About time." they said together.
