The_Elf_From_America_THE_QUEST - Part Elven-The Journey

He came exactly as he said on the third day entering her dark cell as she was asleep. He woke her.

"Princess, come its time."

She stood up seeing sunlight through the window.

"It's time for the jailbreak." He cut her chains and handed her a knife, a bow, and a quiver. "These are for you."

"Thank you."

He grunted and said, "We are going through a secret path."

He removed a large boulder in the cell and began to crawl through a dung-filled tunnel. She followed.

"What will happen to the ones who tried to rescue me?

"I wish I could save them. The Prince captures people for a reason like you. The woman he desires, and the man loves her."

"What will he do?"

"I will not tell you for you would faint."

"I don't faint."

"Not now."

He continued threw the tunnel, and she followed.

"Come on ma'am the light at the end of the tunnel."

Even though she opposed to being called ma'am, she continued on. He pulled the Princess out of the tunnel, and she shielded her eyes from the sun.

"They'd have noticed my absence now. Come on."

"What is the plan?"

"We shall go to a friend of mine's down that way. It is only twelve leagues away. But for a lady it might be hard to travel that distance in a quarter of a day."

She said arrogantly, "Not at all."

He suddenly grabbed her hand. "We've got six hours. Come they are in pursuit of us!"

She ran beside him. She turned back seeing Dario and his goons following them.

"This is just perfect! We'll be caught!"

He grinned.

"Heh I think not."

"What do you mean?"

He fit an arrow into his bow and let it fly past Dario's ear.

"Now duck!"

Areniel rolled onto the ground and turned letting loose arrows from her bow. Valmarias suddenly tapped the earth twelve times. Areniel felt a tremor occur. She saw the ground open up before her. Valmarias leapt into the cracks while she preferred to fall. He seized her hand before she could go tumbling.

"Uh oh!"

She grasped his hand firmly.

"What did you do?" she asked looking down.

"No time. Come quickly."

He leapt down into the tunnel he had built years ago. It was his secret that only he knew of it. She was surrounded by darkness.

"This," he said proudly pointing in the darkness, "is my secret escape tunnel I built. I don't know why but I have a use for it now."

He smiled but she couldn't see it.

"I thought elves hated caves."

He laughed.

"Ahh well who told you that?"

"Tis a known fact. I do not like caves either."

He tapped the ground lightly three times, and lights appeared around them.

"Well you will stay here for the night. Or else you could go back to the Prince."

"No thank you."

She looked around and then at the elf, who stood before her.

"How do I know you can be trusted?"

"You don't. You will just have to trust me."

She eyed him suspiciously. She wrapped her cloak closer about herself and slowly drifted off to sleep. He looked at her for a long moment. She awoke in the morning.

The Prince was outraged when he had heard of the Princesse's escape.

"How did it happen!?" He asked nearly ready to strike the soldiers assigned to guard her cell.

"On the third day, we came into give her food, and she was gone, my lord. Valmarias your Captain is also gone as well."

"He has betrayed us. My mind has been clouded with other issues so I have not been able to see. No matter."

"But my lord-"

He raised his hand. "I think I have someone even better to show the King. I wonder how he would react if I told him his greatest friend in the world Legolas Greenleaf son of Thranduil was under my control as well as the Lady Elenya."

"What will you do my lord?"

"The Prince of Mirkwood means nothing to me. The girl shall remain here forever kept tightly under my hand. But Aragorn shall see soon that his loved ones shall pay the price. Send in Halafa."

The Prince had sent his two riders out three weeks ago. They were now returning one from every province. He met each one in his court. He did not expect such a friendly greeting from Aragorn Elessar of Minas Tirith.

"What says the King, Halafa?" he asked.

The Easterling ranger replied, "He says that he shall not serve a false Prince and orders that his daughter be returned instantly or he will see you crushed like a big underneath his feet."

The Prince laughed.

"It is not I who shall be crushed but he. What of the other provinces?"

"Eomer has refused of course as well as Haldir of Lorien, Thranduil of Mirkwood, and Faramir Steward of Gondor. Gimli of the Glittering Caves also refused utterly. I would read his note, but I fear my lord, it would anger you. Eladdan and Elrohir have also refused to aid us. I fear they will all join with the King."

"No matter. The men of Far Harad are numerous, and my people are strong. The others will soon see their precious cities destroyed to the ground, their men slaughtered, and their women and children kept as prisoners. Think of it Halafa. If I am able to conquer Edoras, I shall take Eomer's wife Lothiriel along with Eowyn, and the Evenstar, the king's daughter in law Elerrina, and then they will yield to me rather than see their loved ones slain."

"What will you to with them?"

"Oh the same thing I had done with the Princess. They are merely pawns in this game. I want Middle Earth in itself. I shall soon occupy all the territory from the Far Harad Road to the north of Ered Mithrain and as far west as the Sea. They will be powerless to stop it. Thank you Halafa. You may go now."

"Yes my lord."

"Middle Earth is mine."
