Arenial- The Extraordinay Elf. - Part 8 ~A Few Days in Lothlorien~
Arenial, eventually, fell asleep, seated by Maddox's bed. Legolas came in and, gently, shook her from sleep.
"Arenial, "he whispered into her ear.
"Huh? What?" she asked groggily, "Legolas what are you doing?"
"I brought you something to eat, Arenial." he said, bowing to her.
Arenial raised an eyebrow and then giggled, slightly amused by his gesture, "Legolas, you don't have to bow to me. Why would you?"
"Arenial, you are a Maia, and you should be shown the proper respect." Legolas said.
"Well, I may be a Maia, but I'm still your best friend. And, as a Maia, I command you to never bow to my again. It makes me unconfortable." Arenial smiled.
"OK, OK, Arenial," Legolas smiled back, "So, would you like to go for a walk? I could show you around Lothlorien if you want."
"Great, let's go." Legolas offered her an arm. Arenial looked at him with an expression that said "OK-this-is-weird-best-friends-don't-walk-arm-in-arm." but eventually took it anyway.
Legolas led her around the Wood as he told her about his visit with Amrod and she told him about her adventure with Maddox. (leaving out the kiss.)
At lenght, they came to a pool and stopped. They gazed, in silence, as they watched the Sun as it set.
At last, though, Legolas broke the silence, "Arenial."
"I promised myself I'd tell you something while I was in prison."
"Well, I- I love you, Arenial."
Arenial faced him, "You love me?"
Arenial was speechless. She had found out before that he loved her, but he had never told her himself. She just looked up at him, her mouth slightly opened, in shock. Tears welled up in her eyes, out of sorrow, for she had loved him once and now they would never be together. Arenial hung her head, not wanting Legolas to see the tears as they fell.
Legolas looked at her, clearly surprised at her reaction. He wondered what he had done wrong. Maybe he said it too soon. Afterall, she had been through a lot these passed few days. He put a hand on her shoulder.
"Arenial, are you OK?"
Arenial faced him again, "How long have you loved me?"
"For as long as I can remember."
"Why didn't you tell me before?"
"I don't know, I really don't know."
"Legolas, you should have said something sooner. Maybe then we could've..." her voice died away as she tried to control her emotions, " I loved you, once, before all this happened."
"You loved me? As in, you don't anymore?" Arenial nodded her head. "Why didn't you say something before?"
"I don't know. I guess I was afraid you would reject me."
Now Legolas was sad. He could almost hear his heart break. All he had wanted, to have her be his, he had lost. But, ther was something he had to know, "So, if you don't mind my asking, do you love anyone now?" Arenial nodded.
"Maddox," she whispered.
"Maddox?!" Legolas cried. He couldn't believe it. He threw his hands hands over his head and stormed away, leaving Arenial to her misery.

Maddox slept for a few days and Arenial always sat beside him, gazing at his peaceful face. Legolas came in once, or twice, but never stayed long. He couldn't bear to see Arenial with Maddox.

Maddox awoke three days leter. He sat up and looked around. He was in a strange room and there was no one around. There was a large window on the west end and many other beds in the room as well. There were many things carved into the walls such as birds and flowers. Where was he? This was like no place he had ever seen. He, slowly, stood up, walked over to the window, and peered out at the land before him.
It was night and the moon was full. He saw great Mallorns and flowers everywhere. And, then, he saw her. She was breathtaking. Arenial was leaning against a tree, staring at the stars. Her, fiery, red hair and her dark blue gown blew around her in the wind. Everything else looke plain compared to her. He had to see her. Maddox changed his cloths and left the room. He, then, made his way down, snuck up behind her, and tapped her on the shoulder.
She turned around and beamed when she saw him," Maddox! You're awake!" She embraced him. He held her tight and didn't want to let go.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
"Better. Where am I?"
"Lothlorien," she saw the look of surprise on his face and explaned, "Why they let us in, I do not know. All I know is that Legolas had something to do with it, so thank him for that."
Maddox nodded. He took her in his arms again and they, together, watched to stars.
At last, Maddox broke the silence," Arenial?"
"I had the strangest dream, when I was ill."
"Oh? What was it about?"
"I dreamt that you said that you loved me."
She turned to face him, "Maddox, that wasn't a dream."
"Yes, Maddox, I love you."
Maddox smiled, "And I you." he said.
At last, all his dreams had come true. He bent down and kissed her, fully, on the lips, his mouth plying at her's.

Lord Randos paced up and down his throne room. He was waiting for his scouts to get back with news of Arenial. He had sent his scouts to track her and find out where she had gone. She had escaped and he wanted her back. Not only that, but Maddox and his prisoner were gone as well.
Randos looked up from his thoughts. "Ah, Dominion, what news have your scouts brought back?"
"As you know, Lord Randos, Arenial, Maddox, and the prisoner have made it to Lothlorien, but, it appears they are setting out for home on the morrow."
"Good, good. Ambush them, but do not harm them. Bring them back here unscathed. If there is so much as a scratch on either one of them, I'll have your head. Now, GO!"
"Yes, Lord." Dominion said and left.
Lord Randos smiled and chuckled to himself. Arenial wasn't going to get away that easily.
