Arenial- The Extraordinary Elf - Part 10 ~Home Again and Lothlaure~
"Alright, you all know the rules to a fair fight?" Dominion asked. He was giving out instructions. Both Arenial and Randos nodded.
Arenial un-sheathed her sword and moved into her attack postion, as did Randos. Maddix, Legolas, and Dominion moved off to the side as the two began circling each other. Rndos stared at Arenial for a moment. Had not her eyes been green before? Now they were a golden colour with determination. Arenial, seeing her opponent off guard, made her move. With one swift motion, she swung at Randos, and he had barely enough time to strike back.
Stirke after strike, dodge after dodge, Arenial held her opponent. Things were going ot her plan. She had a few tricks up her sleeve which he didn't know about. With a "CLANG" their swords came together and stopped in mid-air. The two opponents stared at each other for a moment. Then, without warning, Randos struck at her. But, Arenial was ready for the attack and she quickly blocked it.
Randos could feel himself falling. This was not what he had expected at all.
"She's formidable." he thought as she came at him again.
Randos hit the ground and was up again in a second. But, Arenial kept at him, coming faster and faster than she had before. And, before he knew it, Randos could feel his sword leave his grasp as he fall to the ground. Arenial then pinned him to the ground, her sword just centimeters from his un-protected neck.
Loud cries erupted from Maddox and Legolas as they ran ove to congratulate Arenial on her win.
"And that, Lord Randos, is my ticket to freedom." Arenial said, a smirk appearing on her face.
Randos just stared at her in shock, his eyes so wide he thought they would bulge. He breathed a sigh if relief as she sheathed her sword.
"Come on you two, let's go." Arenial said and walked away, leaving Randos speechless.
Once outside, Maddox wrapped his arms around Arenial and kissed her.
"Wow! I can't believe you actually beat Randos in a sword fight. I mean, not even I could do that." he said.
"I can't believe it either." said Arenial "But, just between the three of us, I had a little help." she showed them the necklace Galadriel had given to her.
"She said it would make me stronger in a time of need." she laughed and looked around. "Where is Larien?" She gave a high-pitched whistle and it was answered by a loud whine. Soon, Larien galloped up to the three.
"There you are, my girl." said Arenial. She jumped onto her back. "Come on you two, let's get home!"
And with that, she galloped away, leaving Maddox and Legolas running behind her.

"Are you feeling OK?" Maddox asked his wife as he bent to kiss her.
"Yes." Arenial smiled, "Legolas comes home today."
Maddox smiled, "That is well. He's been gone for far too long. We sure could've used his help in that fight with the Orcs."
Arenial shuddered at the memorie. The realm of Thranduil had been invaded by Orcs and the Elves faught long and hard under the trees. In the end, the Elves had the victory but it had ended with a great fire and many trees and Elves were lost.
"Let's not talk about that." Arenial said.
At that moment, a horn blew and a great commotion arose outside.
"He's home!" Arenial cried.
Maddox helped his wife out of the chair she was sitting in and they ran out to greet him. They had to shove their way through the crowds but they, finally, made it to the front.
"Legolas! Legolas!" Arenial shouted and waved to her friend. Legolas spotted them and ran over to Arenial and Maddox.
"Oh, it's good to see you two again." he said as hugged Arenal and then Maddox. Legolas had been so anxious to see his friends that he didn't notice that something had changed about Arenial but now he noticed it. She wasn't that slender maide he'd left befind, now her belly was swollen. There was only one possible explanation; she was pregnant.
"Why didn't you send word?" Legolas asked.
"Ah, I was wondering when you would catch on to that. Well, we decided to surprise you." Arenial said.
"Well, that plan certainly worked. When?"
"Any day now." said Maddox.
"Well, congratulations both of you. This certainly is a wonderful surprise to come home to."
"MMMMM!" cleared a throat behind them. Legolas whirled around and saw his friend, Gimli.
"Master Elf, are you going to introduce me to your friends, or am I going to be forgotton now that you are with old friends. Because, if that's the case, I shall introduce myself." Gimli said in a gruff voice.
Legolas laughed, "Oh, forgive me, I completely forgot about you and I'm being rude. Arenial, Maddox, let me introduce you to a very good friend of mine, Gimli son of Gloin, the Dwarf."
"How do you do, Gimli?" Arenial asked.
"I'm better than I have been after what I've been through."
"Yes, long have we faught, side by side. He is very skilled with the axe I'll have you know." Legolas said.
"Oh is he now? Well, you two come inside and tell us your tale and we'll tell you our's." Maddox said.
So, Legolas and Gimli told Arenial and Maddox about the War of the Ring and Arenial and Maddox told Legolas and Gimli about the Battle Under the Trees.
"Well, you two have been through much. Halflings and Ents, I thought they were just myth." said Maddox.
"Yes, they are very interesting and very much real." said Gimli, "And the halflings are much stronger than you think. Why, young Pippin was crushed by a troll and survived, Merry stabbed the Witch-King and Frodo and Sam went the Mt. Doom itself."
"I should like to meet one someday." said Maddox.
"Perhapes you shall." said Legolas.
The four stayed up well into the night talking of past events.
Two days later, Arenial gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
"She's got your eyes, Arenial." said Maddox.
"Yes, and she's got your nose." said Arenial.
"What shall we call her?" Madox asked.
Arenial thought for a moment as she ran her fingers through the baby's golden-red fuzz.
"She shall be called Lothlaure, our golden flower."
"Our golden flower. "murmured Maddox, "It suits her."
Arenial smiled and yawned.
"You're tired." said Maddox, "Get some sleep. I'll take Lothlaure."
Arenial handed Maddox their new one and drifted off into a deep sleep.
Maddox kissed his wife of the forehead and then stole, quietly, out of the room. He walked outside and sat down on the ground, leaning his back against a tree, with the tiny bundle in his arms. He looked down at his daughter and thought to himself.
"I never thought my life would end up like this, but I'm glad it did.[?I] And, I'm glad I have you." he said out loud to the yawning infant in his arms.
"Yes, go to sleep, my golden flower." he said and soflty kissed her forehead.
"Go to sleep."
