The Two Towers Soundtrack... just as good as Fellowship's! - A look into TTT's score

I just bought the Two Towers Soundtrack yesterday (the last one on the shelf!), and I can't stop listening to it. It's breathtaking melodies, haunting music and heartrenching solos make this soundtrack a winner.

When I first started listening to it, I found I didn't enjoy it as much as FOTR, but now that I've listened more, I really appreciate its subtle changes. For example, there are 5 new vocalists, each singing in a different part of the CD. The one that shocked me the most was Emiliana Torrini who sings "Gollum's Song". At first I didn't like it, but after awhile, it certainly grows on you. Emiliana has a different kind of voice, one that wavers in a good way. It also seems to me, that she's trying to make her voice sound like Gollum, to make it look as if he's singing it.

Alot of the older, well-loved pieces are on the soundtrack, altered some, and of course there are some new, added pieces that have intermingled with them. For instance, on the track called "The Riders Of Rohan", it starts off energetically with a twinge of one of the older meoldies, then halfway through, it changes sweeping into the graceful, slightly Celtic-ish sounds that we have come to recognize as "Rohan's song".

Also, to further the listener's enjoyment, the CD is enhanced, so you can pop it into your computer and download buddy icons, wallpaper, screensavers, watch movies/traliers, and lots of other things while listening to your music. Plus, as an added bonus, when you purchase the CD, a special double-sided collectors trading card comes with it. There are only five different cards, one in each CD.

All in all, this is a wonderful soundtrack that comes from a movie so beloved by us all. If you love classical music or just enjoy soundtracks, then I recommend that you buy this... that is if there are any left on the shelves!
