The death of Arwen - 'The evenstar doth wan'

The evenstar, her grace demise
Doth keep the secret of her eyes
So full of stars and fragrant air
Did thee ever see her there?

Undomiel, the fairest maid
The beauty of her voice display'd
Upon the night of even mist,
The very night her words hath kissed.

Elven queen, the mortal king
Again, as if her lay to sing
Like Luthien, akin to men
Thee did marry thy love, die then.

O weeping one, how in this land
Can thee fear death's cold hand?
For thy kin once rulled this earth,
And thee were placed, of mortal birth.

Arwen, now thy light doth wan
And gone are all the things that can
Or do remind thee of thy race,
For lost is now thy living grace.

The evenstar, her body lies
Is lost her secret, for she dies
So full of stars and fragrant air
Did thee ever see her there?
