Frodo's Burden - A poem by Nerdanel14
when you took on the Great Burden.
Yet, if you knew
still you would go on.
You see not light
no memory have you
of tree, or grass, or golden flower.
All you see is Darkness.
The Great Eye hants you wherever you go.
"Where shall I find rest?" you whisper
tormented dreams haunt your mind.
Yet when the memory of Darkness grows upon you
you clutch a white star and remember the promise.
O Frodo! There is light beyond! Do not despair!
There is a place where you can find rest!
The small of salt water flows in the air:
you depart into the Immortal West.
