Fading of Evenstar - A Song

The mist covers me
As I stand on the shore
I look across the Sea
Which I can cross no more
The wind shares in my mourning
As I stare into the deep
And my heart feels torn
Between the Ocean and thee

I cling to Hope on these fading shores
And you are with me, and I am yours
Still when the rolling ocean beckons to me
I remember forever and what it could be
But your eyes hold more than a memory
And I can abandon forever to be with thee

These lands are dying
And the Sea calls my name
The woeful wind is crying
Across a wide and empty plain
But I abandoned all of this
Long ago for thee
There are other forms of bliss
On this side of the Sea

I cling to Hope on these fading shores
And you are with me, and I am yours
Still when the rolling ocean beckons to me
I remember forever and what it could be
But your eyes hold more than a memory
And I can abandon forever to be with thee

When the time comes for fading
And you are taken from me
And there is nothing left here
On this side of the Sea
And the leaves are slowly falling
And my people have gone
And the winds are slowly trilling out
A mournful dirge of a song
Then in the waning woods I shall lie
Until my choice comes to claim me
And when at last 'tis my doom to die
Without the world's circles I shall find thee

I cling to Hope on these fading shores
And you are with me, and I am yours
Still when the rolling ocean beckons to me
I remember forever and what it could be
But your eyes hold more than a memory
And I can abandon forever to be with thee
