We, the undersigned, are staunchly against filming The Hobbit without Peter Jackson directing it. It would be a travesty to make the film without the man whose bold vision brought Middle-earth to us in the recent The Lord of the Rings trilogy. We implore New Line Cinema, MGM Studios, and Peter Jackson to resolve their legal differences and bring the best possible vision of The Hobbit to the big screen.

Let Another Director Helm The Hobbit

We, the undersigned, support New Line Cinema's decision to have another director helm The Hobbit. We have seen Peter Jackson's vision of Middle-earth, and now it is indeed time to allow another director to put his vision of Middle-earth on the big screen. Tolkien's work should not be sewn up in one director's vision. Another director--given he or she is a fan of Tolkien--will give Middle-earth a much-needed fresh perspective.
