Lord Of The Rings cast and crew have found the perfect place to stay - Hobbit Motorlodge in Ohakune.

The ski town near Tongariro National Park is better known as New Zealand's carrot capital, but the Hobbit Motorlodge looks set to change that.

It's home to cast and crew of the Lord Of The Rings for the next month.

Proprietors Garrick and Maureen Workman are hush-hush about the crew's movements, but confirmed they were almost fully booked.

The Hobbit had been built by Phil Jackson - no relation to Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson - and the Workmans had taken over the lease.

"I haven't really paid much attention to the film, until now," Maureen said. The crew's arrival was a real boost to the cash-strapped area, she added.
