Songs for the Holidays - A medley

Running Hobbits
To the tune of "Jingle Bells"

Dashing 'tween the trees
From a wraith not far away
On we go to Bree,
Screaming all the way --aah! aah! aah!

Hooves on tree roots clop,
In the moonless, starless night,
How great it'd be to finally stop
This journey filled with fright

Oh, running fast, running hard,
Running all today,
No time to eat e'en one small shard
Of food along the way --hey!

Running hard, running fast,
Runing all the way,
So much time has elapsed . . .
But we've reached safety at last . . .
And I hope it's here to stay. Yea!

Green Caradhras
Sung to the tune of "White Christmas"

I'm dreaming of a green Caradhras,
Unlike the ones I've always known
Where the treetops show
Above the snow
And the view is not so forlorn

I'm dreaming of a green Caradhras
With every trudging step I take
In your journeys
May a good end be seen
And for you may Caradhras be green

O Treebeard Tree
Sung to the tune of "O Christmas Tree"

O Treebeard Tree, O Treebeard Tree
Your skin is always green
O Treebeard Tree, O Treebeard Tree
Your skin is always green

I saw your green face up close
And your large, verdant nose
As you lifted me, O Treebeard Tree
Your greenness I could plainly see

O Treebeard Tree, O Treebeard Tree
I hope you're feeling well
O Treebeard Tree, O Treebeard Tree
I hope you're feeling well

You look so green, to my eye
And then comes, that ancient sigh
O Treebeard Tree, you can't sit down
Please say that look's not a sick man's frown

Sauron Claus is Coming to Town
Sung to the tune of "Santa Claus is coming to town"

You better watch 'round
Get out your spear
The alarm sound, cause he'll soon be here
Sauron Claus is coming to town

He's searching each land
Locatin' each king
Gonna find out who took his ring
Sauron Claus is coming to town

His gaze sees through shadow
His look pierces flesh
His eye penetrates through earth
So run away for all you're worth

So . . .
You better watch 'round
Get out your spear
The alarm sound, 'cause he's almost here,
Sauron Claus is coming to town

We Three Elves
Sung to the tune of "We Three Kings"

We three elves of Lorien far
Bearing bows we travel afar
Field and woodland
Bad and goodland,
Marching towards Mordor

O--Mordor of evil, Mordor of doom,
Together we'll seal Sauron's doom
Orcs so violent
Watchers silent
May terror not us entomb

Silent Night --Sam's song
Sung to the tune of "Silent Night"

Silent night, terrible night,
All is dark, all is quiet,
Round yon lair, Shelob and prey,
We step, and for life we pray,
Out comes Sting, intrepid,
To cut this entangling web

Silent night, gruesome night
Frodo's dead, from spider's bite,
Smeagol's strangling with supple fingers
An air of decay o'er all lingers
Shelob and Gollum will pay
Cringing from phial's bright ray

Silent night, tear-filled night,
Frodo's face is drawn, pale, and white
I must take the ring, finish the quest,
Leave him to an eternal rest
Sleep well, on Death's wings a flier
Sleep well, and dream of the Shire

Yule Time
Sung to the tune of "Silver Bells"

Fireworks
Bright-lit smials
Stretching mile after mile
In the air there's a feeling of Yule,
Children laughing, hobbits passing,
Sharing mathoms galore,
And in every white meadow, you hear . . .

Happy greetings, cheerful laughs,
It's Yule time, in the Shire
Bright bells ring,
Young girls sing,
Soon it will be feasting time

O Little Town of Hobbiton
Sung to "O Little Town of Bethlehem"

O Little Town of Hobbiton,
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dream-filled sleep
The silent stars go by
And in each cozy smial
The little hobbits snore
Dreamin' of food and play all night and day
As they have done before
