NewsWire: "Fellowship" Voted One of Tastiest Films of All Time - Restaurant reviewer places FOTR seventh among top ten films

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Read all about it: "The Godfather" bumps off "Citizen Kane," at least according to a survey of more than 5,000 voters who may be more accustomed to ranking restaurants than films.

Moving into an area that it has never touched before, famed restaurant guide Zagat is now ranking movies, conjuring up a top 10 list based on readers' surveys that make Francis Ford Coppola and his "Godfather" series an offer he can't refuse.

Many critical rosters, including the 1998 American Film Institute list of the all-time great films, rank "Citizen Kane" first.

But the 5,338 avid movie-goers who voted in the first ever Zagat Survey Movie Guide enthroned "The Godfather" on their list of most popular films, and, in what Zagat calls the "Kane Mutiny" they relegated the Welles classic to No. 8.

The World War II classic "Casablanca" ranked second, "Star Wars" third, "Gone With the Wind" fourth, "Shawshank Redemption" fifth, "Braveheart" sixth and "Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring" seventh.

In ninth place after "Citizen Kane" is "The Godfather Part II" and in 10th place is "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

The Zagat Survey movie guide covers about 1,000 films in the snappy style for which Zagat guides are known.

Besides the capsule reviews, each film is also rated separately by overall quality, acting, story line and production values on a zero to 30 scale.
