At 7.00pm prior to the Third Tolkien Lecture, in the MICHAEL TIPPET CENTRE Gallery the Publishers Darton, Longman and Todd will host the book launch of 'Secret Fire: the Spiritual Vision of JRR Tolkien' by Stratford Caldecott, who will be present for the launch.

Caldecott suggests that an understanding of JRR Tolkien's personal beliefs and their influence on the story for which he is famous can only enhance our appreciation for this great work of art. Drawing largely on Tolkien's many letters and occasional essays, he demonstrates Tolkien's own extraordinarily rich and fertile sub-creation in the light of his Christian faith.
