Coming all the way from New Zealand, Visual Effects Supervisor Jim Rygiel will present behind-the-scenes footage from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and discuss the creation of the remarkable epic and the upcoming films in the trilogy. The event takes place at the DGA Theater, 110 W. 57th Street in New York City on Thursday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 for the general public or $14 for Museum members. Jim Rygiel is a veteran of the visual effects industry and a pioneer in the use of digital effects in film. His credits as visual or digital effects supervisor include Starship Troopers, Ghost, and Batman Returns. Rygiel is currently based in New Zealand, the home of Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson's digital production facility Weta Digital.
