I hated it.

Now I know enough about art to say why: the face of Aragorn's too long, and the proportions of Boromir's all out of whack. A man with that large a head and neck and such narrow shoulders and chest? And where's his armor....he's in a frelling battle!! Did the orcs make a pretzel of him, too?

No matter; I wonder what happened to my old calendar?

If Aragorn, Legolas and Boromir looked like that I'd go and join Sauron or Saruman!

But tis horror deserves -10. And don't tell me I should recognized the work that the artist put in it, blah blah blah... you can work hard and fail completely. Sad but true.

Aragorn looks odd, and Boromir... my god, I don't know what to say....

At least, the colors and shades are very nice, and Legolas and Gimli don't look that bad.

What an innapropriate juxtaposotion. This picture is comparing Boromir with christ. Anyone who has seen a lot of icons knows what I'm talking about. I'm Catholic anymore, but it's clear as day to me. This is just so wrong.

This is horrible. Not only is this an insult to Tolkien it has crossed the line of what is sacreligious. This is inappropriate beyond words. I am not Catholic but I am a Christian and I am offended by this picture

We won't even talk about how they jacked up Aragorn making one of my favorite heros look like Miss Thing on laudry day. Bleeeeeeech!

I don't care if it looks like an icon or not. To me the artist just seems to be trying to look medieval. Nonetheless, the (wo)man has completely failed at producing anything resembling Art.

This is an...um...odd picture. The charactors look very bad, and I am offended by the pokes at Christianity by all the caption people on the contest. Anyway, I thought GANDALF was supposed to be the analogy to Christ? Boromir tried to steal the ring! Grrrrr. some people just don't understand. *sigh* Also, did anybody but me notice that in all the orc chaos or whatever that is in the background, on the left it looks like a fallen UFO? Plus also Aragorn looks like an old lady.

ok, thi is very offending. The artist is making an Icon. though, I would sugesst next time they do a painting like this the make Christ Christ instead of giving him Boromirs name. And why is Aragorn wearing a Berka? Could he fight with that thing? the Artist did a great job with shading and stuff like that, but this is NOT tolkien. I'm sorry but no one striped Boromir when he died. And is that the Lorien leaf pin? And Leglas' shoes are a bit sterotyped for a fairy tale elf. My hat is off to the artist for tech stuff, but I think they need to go reread the scene in the Book. I will not rate this because of the good tech job, but the not so good interpretation.

Boromir's not s'posed to be Christ, it's St Sebastian that got the archery target treatment. Either way, this sad excuse of a waste of oil paint is just wrong, on sooo many levels.

Looks Like The Artist Used Rick Ocasik from The Cars to model for Aragron

Good shading & stuff, but just: bleah.

Aragorn's in drag, someone stripped Boromir, Legolas is like a "fairy-tale prince" and Gimli was forcibly ejected from "Snow White & the 7 Dwarves".
I can't honestly believe any of them (except mebbe Gimmers) could fight dressed like that.
Also, who dislocated Aragorn's jaw?

Wish I could draw trees like that tho.

Well, that picture is very interesting. Nice work, but a lot of things just don't match.

This is hardly the type of place where Boromir would go running about half-naked, nor did I particularly like it. (For reasons other than Wargish horomones.) & Gims and Legolas are hanging around? Wazzup with that? Not going to get into the icon debates, but Aragorn looks like he's in drag, no question. If I didn't know better, I'd've mistaken him for a MSue. (Save hasslich doesn't even come close...) Shading's pretty good, as is detail, but there are some places where one just shouldn't go there....

This picture is HILARIOUS! I love it. I can't stop laughing. I wish I could find a big enough copy to put over my desk here with my painting of dogs playing poker and my wall hanging of the Last Supper, which may well have been drawn by the same artist. Come on, people, have a laugh -- this picture rocks!

P.S. Why did Aragon put Boromir's shirt around his head like that? What gives, dudes?

Look on the bright side...Legolas finally got his shoes instead of the boots PJ gave him. And they go so nicely with his pajamas. *snicker*

The martyr of St. Sebastian imagery is certainly interesting, and makes me think of this scene in a way I've never done before. Still, the picture doesn't have a very attractive effect. Aragorn looks horrible!

I can't rate this, I don't know whether to put a five for "interesting new approach" or a zero for "yuck, my favourite guys look horrible."
