It looks like you only have Voronwe here.
This is excellent, nevertheless. I love the way you paint people. It's just amazing. I love the colours, too. You blended them very well. Very, very well done.

Nevermind. I see Tuor now. He's up at the top of the hill looking down at Voronwe. I really like how you did that perspective. Very nice.

Absolutly beautiful! Bravo, I say!

Did Tuor realy have blonde hair??? Isn't it more likely Voronwe was blonde, because he's an Elf? And I think the Sword matches the shield Tuor has on other paintings by Eissmann. A beautiful painting either way.

I really liked this one. The landscape is great, and Voronwe is handsome...

I like the clouds and the perspective, too. You also did a good job of keeping the foreground more detailed, while the hill and leaves in the background are less detailed as they should be. The crab is a fun touch for those observant enough to notice! (I probably wouldn't have...)
BTW TuorSonOfHuor -- I've always heard that a lot of elves had dark hair, just think of Elrond and Arwen for example (There's also debates about Legolas' hair color since Tolkien never specified!) Although I have no idea what Tuor would have looked like...

This is GREAT ABSOLUTELY GREAT!! My favorite picture by you still has to me the door of the dead, you know the one with Gimli and Legolas!
I just started the Silmarillion. And I'm still on the forward!! I've heard that it gets confusing. SO if you have any pointers send them my way!

I like the details and colors. You brought out the mood and expressions.
lordelrond#1, I had to read The Silmarillion twice to get it. The 2nd time I made a list of the Valar and Valier, one big family tree of the elves and humans, and printed out a map of Beleriand. These helped. I also kept referring to the index.

Who is Tuor, and who is Voronwë? It seems like most of us think Voronwë is in the foreground, but not everyone.
And Tuor's name comes first in the title, which should be referring to him as the largest person in the picture...
Comment by NienorNiniel - September 29, 2003 @ 2:00 PM
And Tuor is indeed a blond guy, and the elf in the front is Voronwe. Only the pure beauty of Anke Eissmann's work can convince me to read stories of the first age!

Isn't that Tuor in the foreground? Right after he slew his friend and thats Voronwe in the background watching him be zombielike...im not quite sure, it was a bit since i read it. But it would make more sense for the focus to be on Tuor...plus it looks like he was cut up which would make sense, for he was just currently rescued from that orc camp.......or am i thinking of the wrong guy lol....

Nice, although I expected Tuor to stand on a wall instead of that hill. I recall that Tuor really has blonde hair. It would make sense, because Hador Lorindol and Huor are both blonde. I suppose even Húrin is blonde, but Túrin isn't, because Morwen has dark hair
