  5. Cristopher Lee is well known for his roles as villains, try watching some of his films actually. Another excellent casting choice imho.

  7. ok, hes played Dracuala countless times, Frankenstein's Monster, the Mummy, Fu Manchu, and as the IMDb bio on him states:

"He has rarely varied his approach to his roles. He portrays characters who are intelligent, unsympathetic, aggressive, humourless, ruthless and totally evil." Now, while thats not the perfect description of Saruman, it gets pretty close.

  9. I think this man is an excellent choice for portraying Saruman in the movie.

Any of you who reads this, would you please add a picture of Saruman all dressed up? I want to see what he looks like when dressed up. Please!

  13. Christopher Lee is without a doubt the best actor they've casted in my view. I've no worries about him playing Saruman. It's just a pity that
PJ, in between stuffing his fat face with sardines found the time to decide to kill him off in TTT in a degrading B-horror movie fashion on a spike.

  15. Christopher Lee is certainly
a perfect choice for the role
of Saruman. But the man is a
    truly gifted actor and, make
no mistake about it, and de-
spite his reputation as one of
    the screen's finest "heavies",
he would have made a wonderful
Galdalf as well! Even the great Boris Karloff, in his
    later years, exuded a kindly,
    grandfatherly image; so any-
    thing's possible, I guess!

  17. Hey, Saruman isn't supposed to be scary anyway! "...an old man...he had deep darkling eyes, hard to fathom, though the look that they now bore was grave and benevolent." I think the more amiable and likeable person to play Saruman the better. And not just in that stereotypical-movie/tvshow way where it's perfectly predicatable that a seemingly nice person is not really so nice (and you roll your eyes that the other characters would actually think of them as nice, you know?), but truly likeable. You should be able to tell that he's not cool by his words and actions- not by his manner, that's who Saruman is.

  31. He looks better in Star Wars than in LotR. Ya might think differently. However I did like the part when Saruman and Gandalf were fighting. I haven't seen him kill anyone yet in either films. If he is to be the powerful Saruman or Count Dooku than he could easily kill at least one person.
