Ooooh, that's a cool picture! I always imagined Bilbo looking a little older when he went on his journey, but overall I think the picture is awesome!

I love everything about this painting except smaug's wings. They seem way too small. Otherwise perfect! Excellent color and use of light, marvelous detail. Very nice.

I always had trouble visualizing the scene between Bilbo and Smaug when i was reading The Hobbit. This painting is totally cool and very realistic. It truly gives smaug justice as the monster that Tolkien meant him to be.

I really like the way the light plays on the gold and Smaug's scales. Also the pillars and the walls are really detailed & realistic, they give the picture a great sense of atmosphere. Pretty good!!!

i really like this picture, smaugs face is fantastic, it has that certain cunning humanness to it. Allthough i thought hobbits didnt grow facial hair and bilbo apears to have a beard, maybe its shadow though.

I like it all except smaug's face. There seem to be a few too many horns, and it causes the veiwer to stare at it for a moment or two as they, visually, figure it out, but that only takes a moment or two. Other than that, very nice!! I like it a lot!
