I agree, Nienor, it does look formidable. I think that it is very similar in appearance to Orthanc. No wonder, because both were made by the Numenoreans! I wonder if we will get to see Minas Morgul in this movie? Hey, less than a month to wait...Mallorn

This is remarquable! I have been spending all my free time lately watching the extras of the dvd, seeing how they made these great shots is almost as exciting as watching the film itself.
It is also an excellent use of film still, because it allows us to concentrate on fine details we could have missed in a fast-paced trailer.

It looks just how Tolkien described it in the book. It also reminds me of Alan Lee's painting. Amazing!
'The Black Gate is Closed' Freaky and dark, but really good. It looks as if the Numenoreans made it, like Orthanc. Gollum says as he sees the Easterlings marching through the gate: 'More people going to Mordor. One day all the peoples will be inside.' chilling and creepy

Wow, that would take a lot of courage to go into a place like that. Especially with the ring and all. Imagine what would have been done to Frodo if he had been caught. Ouch. It really captures the fear, darkness, and evil.
