Good choice of 1st Age designs and pictures. It's a good representation of Beleriand, especially the evil in black and the good in white in their battle. Some parts of the pictures are a little hard to make out.

Its part of the ten-sett The History of Middle Earth. I've got the whole set. They are a bit tricky to come by - I ordered them off Kalahari.net ( the South African counterpart to Amazon - you people in UK and USA should be very grateful for having access to those!! ) as I couldn't find it in bookstores either. The cover illustrations ( done by John Howe btw ) is the same but the spine and so on is black - very classy

Oh - to rate I should maybe say something about the artwork. Generally, I like John Howe's very much. 5 it is

If you see a book cover its good - if you look beyond that and appreciate ( or not ) the art, its better. I'm sure it wasn't scanned to display a book cover by itself, but rather to display the art on it.

Its part of the ten-sett The History of Middle Earth.

actually, it's 12.

It's not even in that good of shape. Boo.

that's because i read my books. i actually put a lot of work into scanning all of these, scanning each side and piecing it together so that it would be a wraparound.

I'm sure it wasn't scanned to display a book cover by itself, but rather to display the art on it.

i just think it's neat to look at all the different covers, and i'm trying to inspire others to upload there's as well.

-----

for anyone who wants to know, the cover art is by John Howe, depicting the battle of Morgoth and Fingolfin. this version was produced October 1994, which is about the time i bought it.

12 set ( nevermind the spelling mistake ) ?? I'll have to go check mine, I'm only at the third book now!

I'm glad you put up these covers, Armenelos, please put up the rest as well. I also think different book covers are neat ( I've got 4 copies of the Lord of the Rings for that reason ). Maybe I'll even scan my History set and put it up ( But it seems with all the different opinions flying around, one should be willing to be flamed! )
