I used to have a crush on an engaged woman. Was I in a "love triangle" with her and her fiancé, even though I never even met him?
Here's a geometry lesson: a triangle consists of three points connected by three sides. If two of the points are not connected, you don't have a triangle! Eowyn and Arwen are not connected. They are only connected to Aragorn. At best that's a love "angle." But it's not even that since Aragorn doesn't have any feelings for Eowyn.
"Love triangle" is one of the most overused terms in the English language and any intelligent person should avoid using whenever possible. Certainly it's an inaccurate and inappropriate characterization of the Aragorn-Eowyn-Arwen relationship.

I think Arwen's facial expression is very unlike her character in the book. It certainly makes you think that there is something to this whole "love triangle" thing. I do hope that PJ didn't blow that situation up into something that never was in the books. I do believe that Aragorn felt compassion for Eowyn, but never "love" in the romantic sense of the word.

I wish Eowyn was a little more Eowyn-ish(for lack of a better description at the moment)... seems a bit down... however, I just really like this poster! OMG! i can not believe that the HORRIBLE movie idustry not only butchered Frodos defiance to the evil powers by being "rescued" by Arwen in the first movie but now they are creating a "love triangle"???? I don't get this, the first two times I read the books i by the time that the Eowyn character was introduced i had forgotten about Arwen, i really hope they do not mess up the WHOLE story by having her in teh seccond movie a lot!!!

I don`t really like it. But then again I just have this thing against movie-arwen (not book-arwen she`s just fine). Ick. I really wish they hadn`t inflated her role so much. I agree with Shadowfax77. Eowyn`s probably my favorite character in the books and I really hope they don`t screw up her part. I don`t thik she ever felt true love for aragorn. She loved him because he was king and she wanted to be queen. I don`t think she ever really tried to steal him from Arwen either. She knew she couldn`t have him. That`s why she wanted to die in battle. I mean I wouldn`t like her if she was out to steal Aragorn. I give it a one becuase eowyn`s in it.
