I wish I had his imagination and that I could invent beautiful languages too...I wonder if he would have liked the movies...I don't think he would have liked the changes that much, because he was upset with the guy who translated his books into swedish (Åke Ohlmarks) when he translated it poorly (according to Tolkien who actually could speak swedish)...so I think he was a bit of a perfectionist...(Åke Ohlmarks was offended by Tolkien and later wrote some bad things about him)...I don't know if anyone was interested but now you know...

I'm going to date myself here, but I only discovered LOTR a few years after Tolkien died - I remember reading it, and kept looking at his picture on the back cover - and telling myself I would have to write him a letter . . . . and then I realized I had found him too late . . . Sigh!

However, i don't think he would have been too happy with the movies for their changes. I have heard that he didn't like the idea of changes;):):):)

I've absolutely fallen in love with his characters... how does he make Middle Earth seem so real? Sometimes I find myself wandering and then wondering if I'm stepping on a hobbit hole. lol. Maybe I read the book a little too much. He's a genius.

This man is LORD of LOTR. This man is my hero! looking at this pic is like looking at a pic of Jesus but I'm not saying that JRR is even near Jesus! This pic looks as if he was in NZ where they were fimling! it looks just where Frodo and Boromir where fighting!

Well, it has been a while since I last visited the gallery and this one image makes it very worthwhile. I have seen many pictures of JRRT, but this one, with him being among his favorite living things, "Trees", is just to cool. Sad he is no longer with us on earth but very happy that he will always be with us in our hearts.

we all know what this man mean for the thirsty souls!! i cannot explain what i want to say, i mean there?s no other book like LOTR, Silmarillion or The hobbit. This man was not God, and so he said; but he was a superman who based his art in God and all his creation was found in the truth of the holy light.....he was a hobbit, just lookt at him in this pic !!...love it....did i say superman? he was an ANGEL....a hobbit.
