this is an amazing artwork, i have to say, it is as realistic as real can be, it's perfect, but the best thing is that you look at it and thoug it's perfect, you still know it's drawn, i mean you never think is a very "clever" girl using photoshop, you can actually see that there is "handwork" there, giving the drawing a perfect sense of art. Ana you're my hero, of course you must be a professional with this things, i've been drawing many of this lotr characters, but of course i'm just a girl and i don't have much experience, the only thing i'd like is that you use your amazing talent to make some pieces out of your imagination, (i try to do that) it proves yourself better, well that's it, i like it very much.

What are you people talking about, "book inspired"? Gandalf himself is Tolkien inspired, whether it's from the movie or not. Would you rather see a rendering of the dreadful Bakshee stuff? As a hobby-artist myself (meaning I don't do any work for sale), I see a great amount of talent and skill in that rendering. Even if it is directly from a movie still! Who cares? It's a very lovingly crafted pencil drawing. I see so much of Gandalf in just that one drawing.

perhaps you noticed that in the movies (this picture, I believe, is movie-inspired) Gandalf almost always has the most benevolant expression on his face. In spite of the fact that in this picture he is not smiling, the benevolance is still there.

I, like everyone else who has commented on your drawing find it excellent, beautiful, mystifying, and a GREAT capture of the personality and spirit of Gandalf the Grey. However, I, personally, think the drawing would be better if there was more contrast between the white and the dark places. I mean I can see many actual white places where no pencil touched paper, but where is the black. The place where there is NO white? I think the drawing is marvellous and I'd give it a 5 everytime if it just had better contrast between white and black. I'm not trying to be rude, but I learned this very important technique from my own mistakes. Anyways, marvellous, once again. Keep it up!

The light that reflects in his eyes is just done brilliantly. I always have problems keeping it to look so white and not rubbed out at the same time. Very well done!!! You can be proud of yourself!!!
