well thats certainly unique....even though a picture of the great one himself to look at whenever I want DOES sound appealing, I wouldn't go as far as to tattoo it on myself.....
I'm giving this as average, cos I don't know if I'd have one(probably not cos I'm 14).

Hey Jonathan, Ted & David,
Thanks for taking the time to post Phase 1 of my latest Tolkien contribution, obviously in total "HONOR" to JRRT himself for ALL the enjoyment I have had thru ALL his writings. I do not get tattooed to please others, so all comments are welcomed (positive AND negative). Tattoos aren't for everybody and I KNOW IT, but I like getting them and having them! The pleasure I have had in my life by reading JRRT's writings is reason enough for ME to show my gratification to the man himself thru all my tattoos (they can be viewed in this sites "Art Gallery" by searching my name "Allan Tribandis" or "tattoo"). With or without Tolkiens personnal approval (can't get one anyway), this tat, and all my others, are strictly for me. This web site has been kind enough to post my artwork for anybody interested (and I think some of the guys running this web site LIKE 'em). Thanks again guys and also I'd like to thank my tattoo artist who did all my work. His name is "Midas" and he presently works out of "Masterpiece Tattoo Studio" in Salem, NH.

Did anybody notice the "authentic" J R R Tolkien signature at bottom of the tat? It was copied off a self-portrait picture of JRRT I found on "The JRRT Information Page" web site.

If you want a Tolkien tattoo..... ok...... cool, but I wouldn't do it.

IF i were to EVER get a tatoo, it would be of the symbol that Tolkien made from his initials.. but I still would never get a tatoo.. after all, why mess with perfection??

The original picture is great, but I can't say I'm sitting here admiring the tattoo.
J R R Tolkien was a genius. IT 's just too bad he didn't have time to write MORE books. I can only imagine.

I wouldn't like the idea of getting a Tolkien tatoo on myself, but it may work for some ppl. I don't think he would have liked though, to be popular in that ppl get tatoo's of his head. I think he should be respected and loved in a different way.
But if it works for some ppl that's fine with me!!
