Lovely painting, but a bit too much sky. Mr. Nasmith's stars are very pretty, but there's a lot of room in his heaven. Perhaps a distinctive star pattern, or particularly bright star above that beau- tiful mountain would have bal- anced the painting a bit bet- ter. But I love it anyway, as I do almost all of Mr. Na - smith's work.

Nice picture of the dawning of the Firstborn. Indeed there is some moonlight. The moon was not yet made and Elbereth had only made stars. The trees of Aman were still alive.

That is really magestic! It appears to be truthful enough. I was especially delighted by the incredible sublime of Giltoniel' stars above Lake Cuivinen. And those winsome elves... Warda' people looking up Her Gift - stars, sky diamonds,-there don't know all of those high destiny , achievements, great, grand mission and nevertheless hard sufferings and weird doom awaiting them in the future. To my mind it looks rather poetical indeed.

It's a good painting, but it's too bright. The sun and moon didn't exist yet, only stars. Also, they're all dressed in white, and they're all dressed alike. If there was a bit more variety in their cothes, I'd like it a lot better. Otherwise, pretty good.

Lovely painting, but a bit too
much sky. Mr. Nasmith's stars
are very pretty, but there's
a lot of room in his heaven.
Perhaps a distinctive star
pattern, or particularly bright star above that beau-
tiful mountain would have bal-
anced the painting a bit bet-
ter. But I love it anyway, as
I do almost all of Mr. Na -

It's a good painting, but it's too bright. The sun and moon didn't exist yet, only stars. Also, they're all dressed in white, and they're all dressed alike. If there was a bit more variety in their cothes, I'd like it a lot better.
Otherwise, pretty good.
