The picture capturele the moment pretty well, they definately look like good hobbits. Proportions could be a beit better, esp hands (which should be same length as the face) and the contrasts a bit deeper, but the colours and especiallt all the fine detail is very good.

the hobbits i picture in my mind are close to this. again, the faces' proportions are almost there, but not quite. the color is nice and bright. i could see this illustrating a version of the book.
