One of my "Top Three" favorite paintings by the Bro -
thers Hildebrandt (please, no one ever ask me to put
them in order!). What a shame the colors of this repro -
duction are a bit washed - out. In the original, the gol -
den braid of the River Daughter's hair against the re -
freshing green of her dress is very beautiful, indeed.
I think Tolkien would have wept for joy.

I think it's good. I don't think of Goldberry as being regal or powerful. She has a comfortable look, and she looks like a good match for Tom. The house looks like a place Tom would like too.

but whatever. it's sounds like this pic would be much better with deeper colours. i should suppose that her dress should take on a more "earthly" apearance but what can i say?it's a rather good pic.

Because I love everything JRRT wrote in reference to Middle-earth and would enjoy seeing as much of it in the movies as possible. Yes, I am a true Tolkien geek.

Without a doubt, this is the BEST Hildebrant painting I've seen so far, it's also my favorite picture of Goldberry! She looks so beautiful, and the details in the room are perfect! I love the cute and cozy fireplace, and all the odds n' ends of furniture and decorations throughout the room. It reminds me a lot of the inside of the seven dwarves' cottage in the glen, and if Goldberry had dark hair (instead of blond) she would make a good Snow White. This Hildebrant version of Goldberry reminds me a lot of Snow White, in a certain way. Wonderful!!!
