this is a great piece of art, tho not quite what i imagine the shire as. although the temptation to mess up the perfect 5 is great, i am not going to.

I especially love this triptych kind of presentation. Shouldn't we have a different rating system for the work of professional artists? It seems unfair to compare all these copies of photographs to the work of the like of John Howe.

I have the calendar with this in.
I love the trees and the ivy and stuff. I'm not really into those long tassles coming off the backs of the riders hoods and the horses don't look very real but knowing how awkward those are, I'll not be too fussy over it.

Beautiful, simpley beautiful.

looks to much like Rivendell, riders look like "ewoks" from star wars in cloaks. Not what I'd call the best of paintings, but not bad, either. Still, I couldn't give it a five, and it doesn't deserve a four either. But you do have great talent: I'm just picky.

but I would have imagined the riders to be bigger in comparison to the Shire.

nice one so good to see this is crickhollow!!
nice one so good to see this is crickhollow!!
Also, Crickhollow was an actual cottage type house, not a hobbit hole like what is pictures in this piece. He might have meant it to be at Crickhollow but if it is, then those details are wrong.
Also, when the riders approached the house, they were on foot. they left the horses out of site in the lane.
