Jackson directs 2 wizards in The Lord of the RingsIn an interview with The Dominion, Peter Jackson has finally made a few concrete statements about the direction of The Hobbit.

He noted that they are "making progress untangling the MGM situation, so we should have certainty with The Hobbit sometime soon"... of course, now that it's been 9 years since The Fellowship of the Ring was released, soon might very well be 6 months.  Who's to know?

In any case, they're clearly still angling to make the films, and Jackson may very well end up directing them--particularly since he also stated he's mapping out a 5 year plan for his projects "that will keep many people very busy".

  1. I know it sounds positive, (and I think it IS positive) - but it certainly is anything BUT concrete news.

I wish, as I think we all do, that somebody would say the magic words "we have a green light" already.

Still, any comment is better than "no comment".

  2. Very happy about the possible directing of PJ, but really that's not concrete. It's all we've heard all along, isn't it, the "Well, hmm, maybe in a little while." But I don't think the Hobbit can not be made. There's just no way, for so many reasons, not the least of which the huge sucess of LotR. So whatever director, however long it takes, it's going to be made. But still, *sniff*, whatever PJ's faults he did make some damn good movies, and I hope he comes back. And soooooon!

  3. I can't wait anymore! I just can't! Okay I can wait a little more.
I guess we just have to accept that when it's made, it's made. We have to keep in mind that once the green light is given, it could be up to 2 years before we actually see a movie. sigh. lol.
