New screenshots for the upcoming game The Lord of the Rings: Conquest were released this week at E3 (an annual video game convention). The game is made by the same people who made both of the Star Wars Battlefront games. For those of you who don't know what that means, you will get to fight any battle from the trilogy of movies, both solo and with other people online, and take up different quests including "Ringbearer."

There are many characters to choose from, including all of your favorites, but the most exciting news is that a campaign will be made available in which you take up the banner of Sauron and find out what would've happened had he prevailed. Equally evil characters will also be playable, such as the Balrog and even Sauron himself. The game's trailer points toward a Fall 2008 release on the XBOX360, the Playstation 3, and the PC.
