ANNOUNCING THE NEW OFFICIAL SMIAL FOR TEXAS!!
The Texas Tolkien Society "Dol Amroth"
We are so proud to announce the new smial here at The One Ring (Tolkien Online) because this site was the foundation for the beginnings of the Smial! The Founder of Dol Amroth is Parador_J and the Steward is Entwife_Lost. We met and mooted years ago (with Frodo-Took) through The One Ring and we are proud to make this our first announcement.
So a very sincere THANK YOU to Ted and Jonathan who gave us the first gift of fellowship.
Our official tolkien "messageboard and fan fave" will always be this site! We invite all TORCERS to visit our board/site/group and become a member. You don't have to be from Texas! Heres a small tidbit to read, then pony up to the pro board for more discussion!!!
The primary purpose of Dol Amroth is to promote, discuss, discover and study in the written works and life of Professor John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1896-1973), by means of fellowship, meetings, moots and gatherings. Our mission is to develop membership and interest in our Smial, which will be a foundation for future program development, including literature distribution, journals, fundraising, meetings, interviews, news and other media.
Founded in January of 2007, we are the official Texas Smial for The International Tolkien Society, in London, which was founded in 1969. We run entirely on a volunteer basis and we shall strive and aim to make our intentions, those of the Tolkien Society.
